Philosophy of Teaching
"I can do all things
through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians
4:13
In Karate there is no first attack. In
Christianity, "I have learned the secret of contentment in
every situation, whether it be a full stomach or hunger, plenty or
want." Philippians 4:11, 12
At CKA-Dothan, we are
committed to Biblical principles of living. Whether it is at the
dojo, at home, or at school, we believe in honoring Jesus with our
every thought, word, and action.

How Are Christianity and Karate
Combined?
First
and foremost, karate to us is a ministry, secondly a sport, thirdly
an exercise discipline program. A historical study of the
martial arts has found the earliest ancestor of Karate (as we know
it today) to be a sport in ancientGreece called
Pankration. The Greeks
were known for their love of sports including boxing, wrestling, and
Pankration. Pankration
involved grappling, throwing, punching, blocking, and was the first
to develop kicking techniques.
It has been discovered that Pankration was introduced into
the Olympic games in 648 B.C.
Pankration was then used and spread across the known world by
the conquering troops of Alexander the Great. To the Christian Karate
Association, karate is not a religion nor a cult, but a very
successful way to teach a sport and discipline that has been a way
and means of reaching thousands for Jesus Christ, our Lord and
Master.
Christian Karate
Classes…
Are a
fun way to get in shape and stay in shape. It is an exercise program
designed to build character physically, mentally, and
spiritually.
The
Program...
Teaches discipline, which develops self-confidence,
physical endurance, courtesy, flexibility, strength, respect, and
promotes healthy weight loss.
It also provides the thrill of a very safe sport competition
program while improving concentration and
self-defense.
Is Christian Karate For
Everyone?
Yes…Men, Women, and Children can take advantage of what
the Christian Karate Association has to offer. Each student, regardless of
age, is given personalized instruction and attention, with an
emphasis placed on individual ability. People from 5 to 85 have
benefited from the professional care given each
